Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking Routes.

  • Marangu Route (Coca-Cola Route)

Known for its gradual slope, the Marangu route is the oldest and most established route on Kilimanjaro. It's the only route that offers hut accommodations, which can be preferable during the rainy season. However, it is also the most crowded and has the least scenic variety as the ascent and descent are on the same path.

    5 Days

  • Machame Route (Whiskey route)

The Machame route is the most popular route due to its scenic beauty and higher success rates. It's a more challenging route with steeper paths and longer days but offers stunning views as it traverses diverse landscapes.

  • Rongai Route

Approaching from the north, the Rongai route is less crowded and offers spectacular views over Maasai plains of Kenya. It's known for being the driest route, making it a good choice during the rainy season. This route also provides a higher chance of spotting wildlife.

    5-6 Days

  • Mweka Route

The steepest route, used exclusively for descending from the summit on the Machame route to minimize soil erosion and avoid traffic congestion.
